Downtown Bentonville on the square was the place to be last night! We had a blast hosting our first ever booth at First Friday, though we were a bit overwhelmed by the volume of people! It was quite the scene with Miss Evy, Miss Sandy, and me there to represent our school.
However, it goes without saying that this event would not have happened without the early support of two wonderful Shepherd parents, who I’m naming our parents of the year 2018! Amber Langston helped me brainstorm the event many months ago, and also designed a new logo which you’ll see in lots of places: our large event banner which debuted last night, on our Facebook page, and on some of our publicity materials. She even got us a great discount on the banner and business cards through her company’s corporate print shop.
Shipra Rane is our other hero, who put together a craft that was hugely popular among our younger visitors. Both she and her daughter got the craft started, and I took over after they had to go. Below and on the cover photo, you will see some of the creations, which allowed for some time to share our school story with many families who stopped by our booth. We had to close down the craft 45 minutes before the end of the evening due to running out of supplies.
At the end of the evening, the three amigos (instructors) walked up the street to Flying Fish to have a nice meal. We were all tired but happy that we got to share the Shepherd story with so many new families!
